If you have a dream, but you think it’s impossible, this post can change your life.
Perhaps you were born into poverty, and things like money, healthcare, and education were nearly impossible to come by. Or maybe cultural expectations hold you back — you’ve never seen anyone who looks like you achieving their dreams.
Countless people struggle to believe that they have the right to dream. So let’s get this out of the way…
Your dreams matter. You already have what it takes to achieve them.
Today’s MarieTV guest is Dr. Tererai Trent.
She’s an internationally recognized leader of social change whose mission is to bring education and opportunity to women around the world. This passion is rooted in her own story — born in Zimbabwe, Tererai had limited access to education, was married by 14, and had four children before her 18th birthday.
But Tererai had dreams: to get her GED and move to America to get her bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD.
After a life-changing conversation with a stranger, guidance from her mother, and years of crushing setbacks, Tererai has ticked off every single one of her impossible dreams and liberated a generation of women.
To be clear, Tererai Trent didn’t achieve those dreams overnight. It took nearly two decades of perseverance — through poverty, abuse, failure, and literally eating food out of a dumpster.
I was moved to tears during our conversation as we talked about her incredible book, “The Awakened Woman.” Her story, heart, and relentless tenacity will help you unlock your passions and achieve your own dreams — however “impossible” they might seem.
Warning: Have some tissues handy, because there’s a special surprise at the end (shhh, no spoilers). Watch and discover:
Now, Tererai and I would love to hear from you. Which part of our conversation resonated most and why? What can you do to turn that insight into action now?
